Amazing Ted Williams 1954 Louisville Slugger professional model W166 bat from the 1954 season exhibiting quality use with ball marks, ball stitch impressions and cleat marks. The bat measures 35 inches and weighs 32 ounces. The labeling period is 1950-1960 but this bat is unique in that it can be pinpointed to the 1954 season as it was a gift from Ted Williams to Truman "Tex" Clevenger. The bat is accompanied by a detailed letter of provenance from Donna Clevenger stating that this bat was given to her husband by The Splendid Splinter in 1954 when Tex was a rookie. Also included is a copy of a signed black and white photo that Ted gave to Tex signed "To Truman, A great kid, one who should be just as good a pitcher, Ted Williams 1954". It isn't often that you are able to acquire a Ted Williams bat with the sort of ironclad provenance. Also accompanied by a MEARS Letter of Authenticity grading this bat an A8.
