This lot features a Rod Carew 1978 Minnesota Twins professional model road blue jersey exhibiting quality overall use. Carew is a HOF'er and 3,000 Hit Club member. These rare baby blue jerseys from the 1970's are extremely popular amongst jersey collectors. This Wilson size 42 jersey features the "Twins" script in navy and red tackle twill with Carew's number "29" in the same colors below. The V-neck collar and sleeve ends are ringed with red, white and navy ribbing and the left sleeve sports the classic Twins patch. The reverse has "CAREW" in tall red tackle twill letters and "29" in red and navy tackle twill. The front left tail of the jersey carries the Wilson size 42 label and a white strip tag inside the collar marks the year "78" and set "3". This is one of the most iconic 1970's style jerseys and is directly attributed to one of the era's most memorable stars. Rod Carew won his 7th, and final, batting title in 1978 with a .333 batting average.
