This lot features an Official Major League baseball signed & inscribed by 17 pitchers who have tossed a perfect game. One of the rarest pitching achievements in baseball is throwing a perfect game. In the last 100 years of Major League Baseball there have only been 19 pitchers that have completed a game facing the minimum number of batters (27) with none of them reaching base safely by a hit, a walk or an error. 27 up and 27 down! In 2014, as part of a perfect game project, baseballs were signed and inscribed by 16 members of this exclusive fraternity. On February 4th, 2024 Domingo German, the most recent addition to the club, was added to the few remaining balls bringing the total signature count to 17. With the passing of Don Larsen, Tom Browning and Hall of Famers Roy Halladay and Jim Bunning this baseball can never be produced again.
The 17 players, and their inscriptions, are Don Larsen PG 10-8-56, Jim Bunning PG 6/21/64, Roy Halladay 5-29-10, Sandy Koufax P.G. 9/9/65, Randy Johnson P.G. 5/18/04, Mark Buehrle PG 7-23-09, David Cone P.G. 7-18-99, David Wells PG 5-17-98, Felix Hernandez P.G. 08-15-12, Mike Witt PG 9-30-84, Dennis Martinez P.G. 7/28/91, Matt Cain PG 6-13-12, Dallas Braden PG 5-9-10, Philip Humber PG 4-21-12 , Len Barker P.G. 5-15-81, Tom Browning PG 9-16-88 and Domingo German PG 6/28/23.
