This lot features a rare Paul Shmyr Minnesota North Stars road green helmet exhibiting excellent overall use. Shmyr played for the North Stars from 1979-1981. He was the North Stars captain and led them to a semifinals appearance in 1980 as well as Stanley Cup Finals appearance in 1981. Shmyr was one of the top defensive stars in the short history of the WHA. He was noted for his hard-nosed style of play in his four seasons with the Cleveland Barons garnering the league's top defenseman trophy in 1976. Shmyr was one of only 6 players to ever win the Dennis A. Murphy Trophy in the WHA. This helmet is all original, has nice game wear and displays Shmyr’s number 6 on the back.
