This truly one-of-a-kind lot features the actual helmet that Los Angeles Angels rookie phenom Mike Trout was wearing for both his first Major League game and first at bat on July 8th, 2011 as well as the game in which he hit his first Major League Home Run in front of the hometown fans on August 19th, 2011. The "Turn Back The Clock" style helmet is the 1993-96 California Angles style navy blue helmet with "CA" on the front as well as red brim. This was a promotion had during the 2011 season in which every Friday night game during the season was dubbed "Flashback Fridays". The 1993-96 "CA" helmets were worn on July 8th, August 5th and August 19th. They wore the late 1980's TBC uniforms on April 8th, April 22nd and May 6th. The Angles finished the season by wearing the 1971-72 TBC uniforms on September 2nd and September 23rd. Trout wore this retro helmet for the games on July 8th (his first ML game and at bat) as well as August 19th (His first HR in Los Angeles and 2nd career HR). Trout did not play in the August 5th game. The helmet was signed by Trout after the August 19th game against the Baltimore Orioles in which he homered and the uniforms were auctions off by the Angels after the game. It is accompanied by MLB Authentication as well as a Los Angeles Angels Team LOA. We have attached a copy of the press release previewing the 2011 "Flashback Friday" games in the Orange County Register in which it lists all of the dates that the Angels would wear each uniform and the fact they they were going to auction them off following the final Friday of each run of TBC uniforms. Trout game used items are the most sought after of any current big league player. He won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2012 and was 2nd in the AL MVP balloting. He likely would have won the MVP Award had Miguel Cabrera not won the Triple Crown in improbable fashion. He is the most highly touted and talented all around player to burst into the Majors since a 19 year old named Mickey Mantle stepped into center field for the Yankees in 1951.
