This lot features an extremely rare 1981 Georgia Bulldogs SEC Champions 10K Gold football ring. This popular ring was made for former star player Ben Zambiasi by world renowned JOSTENS weighs 27.5-Grams and measures approximately size-10. It has "©JOSTENS 10K" engraved inside. Georgia, coming-off their “National Championship” season in 1980, would be led by sophomore sensation, Herschel Walker, and were ranked as high a #2 Nationally in 1981. The Bulldogs only loss during the regular season, was on-the-road to eventual National Champs, the Clemson Tigers, 13-3. Georgia still finished an impressive 10-1, and ranked #2 in the Country, led by Herschel Walker, who was having perhaps his best season at UGA, but finished 2nd in the Heisman Trophy balloting to Marcus Allen of USC. The Bulldogs would be invited to the Sugar Bowl, and matched-up against star QB - Dan Marino and his #8 ranked Pitt Panthers, who were 10-1 as well. This tremendously scarce University of Georgia football ring is crafted by JOSTENS and remains in excellent condition 40 years later.
