Incredibly rare 1977 Texas Longhorns BK geodetic suspension helmet made August 4th, 1977 for use during subsequent seasons. The "Tyler Rose" rumbled his way through SWC defenses from 1974-77, culminating with a Heisman Trophy after the '77 season. Campbell went on to a Hall of Fame career with the Houston Oilers and is a football icon in the state of Texas. The helmet shows heavy use overall and has Campbell's Longhorn's #20 on the back of the helmet. BK (Bill Kelley Athletic) purchased the rights to distribute helmets to SWC teams in 1977 from Mac Gregor. Exceedingly rare and vintage Texas Longhorns helmet, signed by Campbell, originally acquired from the University of Texas. There is no team or player provenance to indicate that this helmet was used by Campbell but certainly an incredible Earl Campbell and vintage Texas Longhorns collectible.
