This lot features a Boston Red Sox 1975 Bicentennial home Carl Yastrzemski professional model jersey exhibiting quality overall use. The popular pullover knit jersey has "RED SOX" sewn on front and "8" sewn on back in red on blue tackle twill. The McAuliffe manufacturers tag, size 42 tag and 1975 year tag are seen into the outside waist. Yastrzemski jerseys are highly coveted by collectors and difficult to find as most that have them aren't willing to sell them. Provenance is very important on these particular jerseys and this one is accompanied by rock solid provenance as it was originally acquired directly from Carl Yastrzemski himself. Yaz has signed both the front and back of this beautiful jersey. He originally signed it o the front then signed it again on the back when he gave the jersey away. Yastrzemski is a member of baseball's exclusive 3,000 Hit Club and also added 452 career HR's. Accompanied by a detailed letter of provenance. Extremely attractive Bicentennial jersey of this popular Hall of Famer. The only other 1975 Red Sox HOF regular season Bicentennial jersey that has sold in recent memory was a Carlton Fisk home, the exact match to this jersey, which sold for $5800.  Here is the link to that jersey sale:
