Bert Blyleven First Ever Professional Contract 1969 Sarasota Twins Original Players Contract and Other Letters w/Blyleven Signed Letter of Provenance

This lot features Bert Blyleven’s 1969 Sarasota Twins originals players contract. Included in this lot is the contract, acceptance of terms sheet, pay stub reflecting signing bonus, corresponding letter for that bonus and congratulations letter.

This contract was the first ever contract in Blyleven’s Hall of Fame career. The acceptance of terms - his dad Joe had to cosign his contract and his name was even incorrect on the form as he was still 18 years old. They used his legal name as his middle name. Additionally, a Minnesota Twins pay stub from 7/15/69 for his $8000 signing bonus is included with letter regarding that bonus from Ossie Bluege of the Twins. Finally, a congratulatory letter that was before Bert signed his contract and was from the Kiwanis Club of Greater Anaheim on making the 1969 Orange County All Star team. This was his last honor he received before signing a professional contract.
