This lot features a Zoilo Versalles 1965 American League MVP trophy presented to Versalles by the Women's Division Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce. Versalles was named the MVP after slugging 19 home runs, a whopping 45 doubles and 12 triples, and stealing 27 bases for the Twins. He also won a Gold Glove in '65, one of two he won during his career. This trophy was originally part of Yankees part owner Barry Halpers collection and was purchased from his Sothebys auction in 2000.
