This lot features a rare 1968-70 era Tony Oliva 1968-70 Adirondack professional model 194A bat exhibiting excellent overall use. There is a heavy crack in the handle that has been repaired with the assistance of a small amount of wood filler. The knob is correctly stamped with the model number (194A). Tony has signed the barrel in beautiful black sharpie. Tony Oliva pre 71 bats are extremely difficult to find. This extremely rare bat dates to the prime of Tony O's career.
Oliva is arguably one of the most underrated hitters in baseball history. Tony O is a 3 time AL batting champion with a .304 career average and has made 8 All Star appearances. Somehow, the HOF has eluded Oliva, however, there remains a lot of support for his admission and he will likely find his way in at some point in the not so distant future.
