This lot features an official American League William Harridge baseball signed and dated on the side panel by the immortal Ty Cobb in his customary green ink and dated 7/23/55. This is simply one of the nicest Ty Cobb single signed baseballs that the hobby has ever seen. The ball has been preserved with a very light coat of shellac free of any chipping whatsoever. Many baseball historians will argue that The Georgia Peach was the greatest player ever as his .366 career batting average seems to support. He also had 4,191 hits and 897 stolen bases during his 24 year Hall of Fame career. Accompanied by a PSA/DNA James Spence Letter of Authenticity.
