This lot features a Rod Carew 1976 Minnesota Twins professional model home white jersey exhibiting quality overall use. There are tobacco spit stains on the front neck line which were a prominent characteristic during his playing career. Carew is a HOF'er and 3,000 Hit Club member. Rod Carew jerseys from the 1970's are extremely popular amongst jersey collectors. This Wilson size 42 jersey features the "Twins" script in red on navy blue tackle twill with Carew's number "29" in the same colors below. The V-neck collar and sleeve ends are ringed with red, white and navy ribbing and the left sleeve sports the classic Twins patch. The reverse has "29" in red on navy tackle twill and the jersey has been signed on the front right shoulder by Carew in black marker. The inside collar of the jersey carries the Wilson size 42 label and the front left tail has a strip tag marks the year "76" and set "3". This is one of the most iconic 1970's style jerseys and is directly attributed to one of the era's most memorable stars. Rod Carew had one of his best seasons in 1976 batting .331 with a .463 slugging percentage while scoring 97 run and driving in 90 runs from the lead off slot. Rod also stole a career high 49 bases in 1976. High quality and coveted jersey from the prime of Carew's Hall of Fame career.
