This lot features a stunning example of Pistol Pete Maravich's 1970 Topps rookie card professionally graded a PSA 8 NM-MT. Pete was one of the most beloved figures in post-war basketball history and made his cardboard debut in this popular Topps "tall boy" issue from 1970. Before bringing his game to the NBA, "Pistol Pete" Maravich absolutely crushed the competition in college at Louisiana State University. The all-time NCAA Division I scorer, Maravich amassed 3,667 points scoring 44.2 points per game average despite not having the advantage of a 3 point line to pad his stats. This is a wonderful high-grade, pack-fresh specimen featuring a baby-faced Pistol Pete. Color and registration are magnificent with no sign the card was ever handled by man. A gorgeous card, graded PSA NM-MT 8. After almost 1,600 submissions, there are just 85 cards rated higher.
