This lot features a 35-inch, white ash Louisville Slugger model-K55 Mickey Mantle professional model bat that has been signed by "The Mick" in bold, black marker. The bat is cracked on the handle with heavy grain swelling (checking) from repeated ball contact can be seen on the barrel. Numerous ball marks and ball-stitch impressions cover the entire barrel. Bat rack and cleat indentations can be found on the left, front and back barrel. A light coat of pine tar stains the middle handle. “K55” is engraved on the knob. A red-ink “7” has been written on the knob. Mantle boldly signed this bat in vivid black Sharpie under his engraved signature on the barrel.
