This lot features a Michael Jordan 1994 Chicago White Sox game issued BP jersey. The jersey is made by Majestic and is a size 46. The interior tag code is 6000, used for Majestic BP jerseys made for professional use in the mid-1990s. Knowing that Jordan played the entire season with the farm team in Birmingham, the jersey, though made for him, was not worn by him during the 1994 MLB season in an official game. Jordan wore Majestic BP jerseys during both spring training, and in his one game, an exhibition, in which he wore an MLB White Sox uniform. Majestic changed the design of their sleeve logo in the 1994 season, and a BP jersey with this logo having been worn by him is only verified by photos as being in a Cubs/White Sox exhibition at Wrigley on 4/7/94, an off-day on the schedule at the end of the Cubs opening homestand. The jersey shows moderate wear, although the degree of wear on it is more than one game of use would create. The additional wear cannot be positively attributed to Jordan. The jersey features the MLB 125th Anniversary patch on the right sleeve, and the jersey tagging is correct for 1994 Majestic BP jerseys. (Dave Miedema)
