This lot features a highly coveted and stunningly rare Michael Jordan 1992 Dream Team I professional model jersey. This jersey ranks right up there with Jordan's Chicago Bulls rookie jersey as one of the most important and desirable jerseys among MJ and NBA collectors. The 1992 USA Olympic Basketball team may be one of the most dominating teams ever assembled in the history of sports. They went 6-0 in the memorable '92 Olympic games and outscored their opponents by an average of 51.5 points per game. The Champion size 46 road jersey is crafted from navy blue mesh with the "USA Basketball" logo in patriotic red white and blue appliqué. Jordan's famed number "9" is set just below in red and white appliqué. Front left chest bears the Champion "C" logo patch. Front bottom left tail has the special Champion USA Basketball 1992 Summer Olympic Games label with size "46" tagging sewn to its right. Inside inseam has two added tags: "100% NYLON" and "3" EXTRA BODY LENGTH". The back features "JORDAN" in large white appliqué letters arching above his number "9" (This is very important because the angle of the arch differentiates this game jersey from reproductions). Michael has stated that he kept the jerseys that he actually wore during the Olympic games. We can only state that this is a jersey that was made for him to use in the 1992 Olympic games, it does not have supporting provenance from Jordan himself as would be necessary to offer it as being "game used". These jerseys are exceedingly rare and would be the ultimate addition to any Jordan or NBA jersey collection. We have provided several images to illustrate the more pronounced "JORDAN" arch on the back of the jerseys that he wore during Olympic competition which matches the jersey being offered in this lot. We have also included images of the "flatter arched JORDAN jerseys" offered in other auctions as "game used" even though they do not match up with images from the games in which Jordan played. This would be an ideal item to purchase and send to Upper Deck for signing at one of Jordan's flight camps. Very nostalgic and stunning piece to display.
