This lot features a Metropolitan Stadium refurbished genuine box seat #6 (Tony Oliva's retired number). Also known as "The Met," Metropolitan Stadium was a sports stadium located in Bloomington, Minnesota that served as the home field for several professional sports teams from 1956 to 1981. The stadium was primarily used for baseball and football, and was the original home of the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings. It had a seating capacity of around 48,000 and was known for its unique design, featuring a curved grandstand and a large concrete ramp leading to the upper deck. The stadium hosted several notable events, including the 1965 MLB All-Star Game and the 1969 NFL Championship Game, which is also known as the "Mud Bowl" due to the heavy rain and muddy field conditions. The stadium was demolished in 1985, and the Mall of America now stands on the site. Cool piece of stadium memorabilia for any Twins or Vikings collector. **Local pick-up only for this lot**(or arrange for freight pick up).
