This lot features Mark McGwire 2000 St. Louis Cardinals professional model jersey exhibiting solid use overall and great provenance. Big Mac has signed the back of the jersey in black marker and added a "2000" inscription. His signature is very difficult to acquire on game jerseys. The Rawlings size 52 jersey has the straight custom hemmed tail and 2 inches of added sleeve length as well as the "Set 1 2000" tags sewn inside the lower left front tail. The Rawlings "R" logo is place on the left sleeve above the seam in the sleeve. The custom hemmed tail and 2 inches of added sleeve length are very important traits of this difficult to obtain jerseys. The jersey was originally acquired from Kelly Kreuter, the wife of Chad Kreuter who acquired the jersey in the year 2000 when Kreuter played with the Los Angeles Dodgers. McGwire made his final All Star Game in 2000 hitting 32 HR's in only 89 games with a .305 BA and .483 OBP. This jersey is rather unique in that the number 5 on the front sits slightly below the number 2. Very rare and highly sough after late career jersey of this 500 HR Club member.
