This lot features a Barry Sanders 1998 Detroit Lions home blue professional model jersey exhibiting heavy use with helmet dings, turf marks and team repairs. The customized jersey is a Reebok size 44 with 4 inches added length and elastic sleeves. The NFL shield is at the bottom of the v-neck and above the seam line. The jersey has "20" sewn on the front and "SANDERS" and "20" sewn on the back. The name on back does not have Barry's initial "B" before "Sanders" because he was the only Sanders on the team that year. The jersey was originally sourced through Detroit Lions front office employee Mark Glenn. It does not have direct team or player provenance to verify use by Sanders. Barry shocked by retiring after the Lions went 5-11 in 1998. He was one the best RB's to ever play the game and was inducted into the HOF in 2004. Sanders ran for 15,269 yards during his 10 year career.
