This lot features a vintage, attractive Lance Alworth San Diego Chargers baby blue jersey. This jersey was made up for Lance Alworth but we don't believe that he actually used this particular jersey during an AFL game. The jerseys we could find him wearing in games show a wider numeric font on the front, back and sleeves, as well as a wider and larger font on the NOB than this jersey shows. Very attractive, popular and rare vintage Lance Alworth San Diego Chargers jersey nonetheless. Alworth was wide receiver for the San Diego Chargers of the AFL and NFL and Dallas Cowboys of the NFL. He played for eleven seasons, from 1962 through 1972, and was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1978. He was the first player inducted whose playing career was principally in the AFL. Alworth is also a member of the College Football Hall of Fame. He was a man amongst boys topping 1,000 yards 7 consecutive times in the 1960's while leading the leage in TD's 3 times and averaging nearly 20 yards per catch for his entire career.
