This official Major League baseball was used in the game played on October 11th, 2012 in which Justin Verlander pitched a complete game shutout in the series clinching game 5 victory over the Oakland A's. Verlander has added a very large and bold signature to the sweet spot of the ball as well as a "#35" inscription. This particular ball was thrown by Verlander to Seth Smith during the final out (a strikeout) of the game. Not only is this the only ball thrown by Verlander that has surfaced but it also happens to be signed by the 2012 AL Cy Young Award winner making it a highly coveted game used autographed item for Detroit Tigers and baseball collectors.
