This lot features a Joe Mauer Career Hit #1119 & Career RBI's #512 & #513 Game Used Autographed & Inscribed Baseball. Minnesota Twins legend Joe Mauer, the 2009 American League MVP, is the only catcher in MLB history to win three batting titles. In 2012, his fifth All-Star season, he had 174 hits—including 10 home runs—and a batting average of .319. Mauer retired in 2018 with 2,123 total hits. Two of those hits came during the April 25, 2012, game, a 7-6 loss for the Twins to the Boston Red Sox. Presented is the Official Major League Bud Selig baseball pitched by Scott Atchison to Mauer, who smacked it for a single and two RBI, marking the 1,119th hit of his career. Mauer has gone onto sign the baseball on the sweet spot in blue ballpoint pen, adding the inscription "Career Hit #1119." The baseball displays solid evidence of use, including dirt residue and scuffing across the surface. An unknown hand has written "vs Atchison" on the south panel. The ball comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (FJ763736) for the game use, as well as an Ironclad hologram for the signature and inscription.
