Black Jim Thome Louisville Slugger signature model M356 bat exhibiting quality player use characteristics with deeply embedded ball marks, cleat marks, pine tar handle crack and taped knob. This particular bat was pinpointed to being used by 600 HR Club member Jim Thome on April 17th, 2010, against Gil Meche of the Kansas City Royals. Thome broke the bat in the middle of the game. During Thome's 1st at bat of the game he launched career HR #543 (only his 2nd as a Twin). We cannot find a conclusive photo match but given the use on this bat, it was definitely used more than one at bat and it stands to reason that Thome would have used the same bat he had just homered with during his 1st at bat. This was only the 9th game of the Twins 2010 Inaugural season at Target Field. The bat has been authenticated by MLB.
