Obtained directly from the Minnesota Wild this Adidas green jersey was worn by Spurgeon during the 2020-21 season. The physically small statured Spurgeon at only 5’9” gritted his way into the NHL. A product of the WHL it took until the 6th round of the 2008 NHL Draft from him to be selected by the New York Islanders. After two more seasons in the WHL Spurgeon became a free agent and accepted a training camp invitation by the Wild. He made a big impressions to make the 2010-11 team. Spurgeon’s rookie season saw him play in 53 games and scored 12 points along the way. However, his reputation quickly grew as a smart positional defensive force. As his career progressed Spurgeon also became an offensive force on the Wild’s blue line. He has spent his entire career in Minnesota and through the 2020/21 season has accumulated 305 points in his Wild jersey. The biggest honor for Spurgeon came just prior to the 2020/21 season when the team named him their new Captain. He finished the shortened season with the new “C” sewn to his jersey scoring 25 points with 7 Goals and 18 Assists.
The game wear on this Wild Adidas #46, Size 54, green home Set 2 jersey, has multiple repairs to both sleeves and material pulls. Sewn to the inside hem is the official Minnesota Wild Game Worn Jersey tagging for 2020/21 marked Set 2. This desirable green home jersey features the Wild’s 20th Anniversary patch sewn to the front of the jersey as well as the Captain “C” Patch on the opposite side. The jersey has been photo matched to at least two games: March 14, 2021 vs Arizona Coyotes (getty image #1231718124 & #1307525580) and April 7, 2021 vs Colorado Avalanche (getty image #1232172079 & 1232171216) where he had 3 Assists (9, 10 and 11 of the year) in an 8-3 Wild win. The jersey will also include a Letter of Authentication from the Minnesota Wild as Game Worn.
