This lot features a game used baseball used in the memorable game in which Derek Jeter went 5 for 5 and became the newest member of baseball's exclusive 3,000 hit club. Jeter certainly has a flair for the dramatic as he launched a home run for career hit #3,000 giving the Yankee fans a thrill they probably didn't see coming when they went to the ballpark that day. The ball was one of many that marked as "ready for game use" as the letter J and #5 were written on the ball. This one was one that was actually used in the game as is evident by it's significant use. The ball was later signed by Jeter in the presence of Steiner Sports turning it into a very coveted item amongst Yankee and Derek Jeter collectors.
