This lot features a Dan Fouts San Diego Chargers 1985-86 MacGregor Sand Knit blue jersey exhibiting excellent overall use. The size 50 jersey has the Sand Diego Chargers exclusivity tag, size tag and "86" year tag sewn into the lower left front tail. The jersey shows solid use with turf burns, helmet dings and jersey pilling. Made by Mac Gregor in 1985, the jersey was carried over to the 1986 season with FOUTS NOB replaced, likely being used as a practice jersey in 1986. Customized with added length, Fouts has signed on the back #4 in faded black marker. Fouts played his entire professional career with the San Diego Chargers from 1973 through 1987. He was one of the most prolific passing quarterbacks during the 1970s and 1980s and led the NFL in passing yards four straight years from 1979 to 1982. He was the first player in history to throw for 4,000 yards in three consecutive seasons. Fouts was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1993 and is currently a color analyst for NFL games on CBS television. Nice jersey from the twilight of Fouts' career.
