The 2004 Boston Red Sox were a truly special team. They found themselves in a 3-0 hole to the hated Yankees in the ALCS. They were also battling the 86 year "Curse of the Bambino" for selling Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees in 1918. The Red Sox then went on an 8 game win streak to capture the elusive World Series title. This lot features a rare extensively signed batting helmet signed by 26 members of this historic team in silver sharpie. Signatures include: Curt Schilling, David Ortiz, Terry Francona, Johnny Damon, Pedro Martinez, Manny Ramirez, Jason Varitek, Tim Wakefield, Kevin Youkilis, Bronson Arroyo, Mark Bellhorn, Orlando Cabrera, Alan Embree, Keith Foulke, Gabe Kapler, Curtis Leskanic, Kevin Millar, Doug Mirabelli, Bill Mueller, Trot Nixon, Dave Roberts, Pokey Reese and Mike Timlin. Very impressive display piece. David Ortiz was a huge contributor to this great 2004 team and would ultimately win the World Series MVP on the 2013 Red Sox Championship team.
