This lot features a Bert Blyleven 1986 Minnesota Twins special 25th Anniversary jersey exhibiting excellent overall use. The pullover powder blue style Twins jerseys are extremely popular with collectors as the Twins changed to the road gray pinstripe jerseys in 1987. The jersey has the "86 1" year and set swatch sewn into the lower left front tail and the Wilson size 44 tag sewn into the inside collar. The Twins team patch adorns the left sleeve and the 25th Anniversary patch is affixed to the right sleeve tying this jersey directly to 1986. Bert "Be Home" Blyleven was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2011 with 287 career wins, 3,701 strikeouts and a 3.31 ERA. Bert's second stint with the Twins lasted from 1985-1988 with this 1986 season being his best season. Bert won 17 games and had 215 strikeouts with the Twins that year even though the team posted a 71-91 record. Blyleven has signed the back #2 of the jersey "To Fred, All My Best, Bert Blyleven #28" in black marker as the jersey originated from longtime Twins collector, Fred Budde's, personal collection.
