This lot features a Barry Sanders 1992 Detroit Lions game used home blue jersey. All characters are screened/heat pressed on in white with silver trim. The only exception is the NOB, sewn in white tackle twill on a nameplate on the back (B. SANDERS) which in turn, is sewn on the jersey itself. In the time span of 1991-94, the 1992 uniforms, made by Wilson, are the only ones on which no patch was worn on the chest by the team. The jersey is made by Wilson, and is a size 42, not the usual for Sanders, but still acceptable as Sanders wore both size 42 and 44 earlier in his career while typically wearing size 44 toward the end of his career. The jersey compares favorably to several Getty Images game photos, in areas including sleeve length and placement of Wilson sleeve logo. The jersey itself exhibits moderate wear, primarily with several repairs made on the yoke of the jersey that were needed after hard hits by opposing players required repairs after damaging the jersey itself. Nice, early career Barry Sanders jersey.
