This lot features a Albert Pujols 2001 St. Louis Cardinals game used rookie #68 spring training home white jersey. This Rawlings size 46 jersey has a flag tag that reads "SET 1 1999". Though worn in March, 2001, the shell was manufactured in 1999. This is backed up by the absence of a Rawlings sleeve logo, as Rawlings didn't return to the role of MLB's contracted uniform supplier until 2000 (along with Russell and Majestic). The jersey exhibits quality overall wear. The Cardinals routinely wore regular game model jerseys for spring training games during this time frame unlike many other MLB teams who preferred BP jerseys. Pujols would, of course, switch to jersey #5 once his rookie season began. Albert is a member of both the 500 HR Club and 3,000 Hit Club. Rare Pujols jersey the rookie season.
