The 1965 Minnesota Twins were one of the most successful teams in franchise history, finishing the season with a record of 102-60 and winning the American League pennant. Led by future Hall of Famers Harmon Killebrew and Tony Oliva, the Twins boasted one of the most potent offenses in the league, scoring a total of 774 runs over the course of the season. The team's pitching staff was also outstanding, with ace Jim "Mudcat" Grant leading the way with a record of 21-7 and a 3.30 ERA. In the World Series, however, the Twins were unable to overcome the Los Angeles Dodgers, losing the series in seven games. Despite the disappointing finish, the 1965 Twins remain a beloved team in Minnesota sports history, remembered for their outstanding regular season and the memorable performances of their star players.
