Led by future Hall of Famers Harmon Killebrew and Tony Oliva, the team won 102 games, the most in the American League that season. They had a deep and talented roster that also featured Jim Kaat, Mudcat Grant, and Zoilo Versalles, who won the American League Most Valuable Player award that year. Despite their regular season success, the Twins were swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series.
